Деякі з останніх подій у Європі та й у світі тим чи іншим чином позначаються на Україні. Так, Данія таки надала дозвіл Росії на прокладання газопроводу «Північний потік-2» через свої територіальні води. Інакше кажучи, перешкоду у справі реалізації наміру збудувати газогін до Європи в обхід України та традиційних шляхів транспортування газу до кінцевих європейських споживачів росіяни таки подолали. Україна ж, звичайно, втрачає значні надходження до державного бюджету в якості оплати за транзит російського газу.
