An analysis of the activities of former IRI President Hassan Rouhani cannot be complete without a preliminary forecast of the key issue of today — the future of the JCPOA and the development of relations between the United States and Iran.
While Washington and Tehran are determining the best way to return to the JCPOA, pressure on the Biden administration continues to increase from US political parties and concerned allies abroad. Many politicians argue that the “nuclear deal” that exists today simply does not go far enough to regulate Iran’s regional balance and related activities. However, the extent to which the Iranian authorities will realistically consider negotiations on a “nuclear deal” is a serious problem. Tehran is well aware that a mutually beneficial partnership with both the United States and regional partners can be offered for a return to the negotiating table.
