Today, the United States Is the Main Donor to the WHO
D. Trump’s decision to suspend cooperation with the WHO in the midst of the pandemic has caused criticism all over the world. He accused the WHO of unprofessional reaction on the pandemic. In particular, that the Organization was late to inform about the danger of the coronavirus, and that in fact it is controlled by China.
D. Trump has repeatedly pointed out that the United States has provided more funds to the Organization than China. The United States is currently the main donor to the WHO. This year’s contributions should be almost 116 million US dollars (102.43 million Euros).
In the hard times of the coronavirus pandemic, D. Trump is under strong pressure, which is also confirmed by opinion polls on the upcoming presidential election, in which he lags behind J. Biden. Republican D. Trump did not recognize the danger for a long time. Critics accuse him of trying to distract the public from his own mistakes by his aggressive campaign against the WHO and China.
