The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to beat the plans of the Russians and strike where the Russian command did not expect. This is a strategic loss for Russian intelligence, the General Staff and their entire command system. Military analyst Ivan Sichen said this in a comment to Gazeta.ua.
“Our successes were extraordinary. We managed to liberate almost the entire Kharkiv region. We have already begun to liberate Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Because we beat the Russians strategically and tactically. They thought that we would advance in the south. But we hit Kharkiv region. Moscow did not have enough strength to fight back. And this is a strategic loss of Russian intelligence, which could not reveal this situation. This is also a loss for the General Staff and the entire Russian command system”, says Sichen.
Next will be an offensive on Donbas, which the Russian occupiers have already begun to flee, the analyst emphasizes.
“The fact that they are fleeing is clearly visible in Kharkiv region. Because their front collapsed there. In order to somehow stabilize the situation, they began to send conscripts. And they flee en masse. Collaborators and Russians in civilian clothes from Kharkiv region run to Belgorod. And at the same time, we are advancing in Kherson region. We have cut off all supply routes to the Russians. Therefore, the Russians troops on the right bank of the Dnieper are doomed and are already asking our command for surrender”, says Sichen.
The Russians tried to form a Third Army Corps, but this completely failed. Because people stopped joining the Russian army even from depressed regions, the analyst explains.
“There is a feeling that a turning point in the war has begun. And Russia is trying to take revenge. They hit the Kharkiv Central Heating Plant. Because they don’t know what else they can do. We should not rule out that they will attack other such objects. Because of our successes, the Russians’ offensive on Sloviansk and Kramatorsk was actually cut off. Our troops have turned up on the outskirts of Lysychansk”, Sichen adds.

The ISW said that Ukrainian troops liberated more territory in a few days than Russia had captured since April 2022. Analysts call the probable liberation of Izyum the most significant military achievement of Ukraine after the victory in the battle for Kyiv. In the last two weeks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated about 500 square kilometers of territory in Kherson region. The Ukrainian defenders managed to de-occupy five settlements: Vysokopillya, Novovoznesenske, Bilohirka, Sukhyi Stavok and Myrolyubivka. |
