THE WEST MUST NOT MAKE A FATAL MISTAKE

The choice to preserve Putin’s regime as the “lesser evil” through military and political compromise destroys the Western world’s claim to leadership

An innovation has appeared in the information field of the RF.

From different sides, so far cautiously, the idea of a new model of power in the country based on the new Constitution is beginning to be launched.

The main idea is that the old social contract has led to catastrophic consequences. It has actually created a “tsar” and endowed him with unlimited power. The king “got crazy”, having previously surrounded himself with thieves, traitors, nonentities and doubles. The society’s demand for “order, stability, justice” was failed in the most dramatic way, as evidenced, in particular, by the “Prigozhin rebellion”.

This novation fully fits into the system of views proposed by us, on the so-called Special Military Operation, about which we have been writing for more than a year.

Through the endless war crimes of the Russian regime, the horrors and sufferings of tens of millions of Ukrainians, as well as the external senselessness of Russia’s aggression, the logic of a controlled “Russian conservative revolution” emerges more and more clearly. Its true goal is to legitimize the undivided power of the special services (by analogy with Iran) in the new Russia.

Judging by the results, most of this criminal and bloody path has already been passed. This gives grounds for its organizers in the highest echelons of power of the RF to say that some (still unnamed) goals of the SMO “will certainly be achieved”, although none of the publicly proclaimed goals of the so-called SMO (there are now more than 30 of them) can be achieved even theoretically.

Ideologists and practitioners of the “Russian conservative revolution”:

1. have already initiated, organized and carried out the Invasion — they started a deliberately aggressive war (i.e., they went through the most difficult stage in the organizational sense, about which we wrote here);
2. are waging war in a strictly determined way — the most barbaric and criminal towards Ukraine and, at the same time, the most destructive for the existing system in the RF;
3. they have already made a complete legal “pupation” of their domestic and foreign policy (and most importantly — economy) by breaking more than fifty international treaties and thus leaving international economic and political arbitration (now they are transferring it to their special services);
4. have begun to organize the Time of Troubles — disintegration and destruction of the existing system of power in the country and creation of a public demand for a new model — a new social contract (elements of this process: the “Prigozhin rebellion” and the explosive activation of radical jingoists);
5. are actively carrying out the transformation of the authoritarian Russian state into a super-totalitarian one (more and more repressive laws and methods of their practical application are created literally every day);
6. are coming close to transferring part of the shadow arbitration from the so-called “feudal” ethnic criminal structures to the so-called “courtiers” controlled from the center (we are witnessing the beginning of the process);
7. begin to voice a need for a new system of building power in the country on the basis of a new constitution with legal (constitutionally enshrined) dominance of special services (we are witnessing the beginning of the process).

Based on the foregoing, it is necessary to point out the most important things. Without exaggeration, the fate of hundreds of millions of people, the fate of the world’s political leaders and powerful political forces, as well as the configuration and effectiveness of international associations for the next quarter of a century depend on them:

• the main upheavals within the RF are yet to come, because without a full-fledged Time of Troubles and destruction of the old model, a new state system of the constitutional level will not appear (this is an element of the revolution, and it will be implemented);
• in the mass consciousness of the current Russian society, there is practically no demand for democracy, and there will be no democratic Russia (in the future, at least for 20 years there will be a permanently aggressive totalitarian monster);
• at the moment, there is still a very widespread fatally erroneous opinion among Western political elites that it is possible to prevent such a scenario for the development of the political system in the RF by choosing in favor of the “lesser evil” — by maintaining the current regime headed by Putin in power through a military compromise (the regime weak and criminal, but retaining control over nuclear weapons);
• statements and actions based on such an opinion have already led to very significant reputational losses for a number of world leaders in Europe and Asia;
• these very sensitive political losses could be avoided if we proceed from the position of Putin’s puppetry (that is, non-subjectivity), who in fact is an extremely important (but not the main) link in the mechanism of power in the RF and in the current process of controlled revolution;
• due to Putin’s non-subjectivity, it makes absolutely no sense to offer him any preferences (even those of the highest value for him personally, such as maintaining the regime of personal power for many years) in exchange for abandoning the publicly voiced (but in reality — sham) goals of the so-called SMO;
• the choice in favor of preserving the Putin regime in its current form as the “lesser evil” is completely devoid of logic, so it is this “great evil”, which is already completing its final and controlled from above transformation (at this stage with the participation of the figure of Putin);
• there is every reason to believe that the true (domestic) goals of the SMO will be achieved. This transformation can hardly be influenced, and certainly not — by freezing the conflict, military and political concessions, “serious fears” and “deep concerns”;
• the physical, economic, political, diplomatic, moral and psychological Wall between totalitarian Russia and the international coalition of democratic countries will have to be built in any case, and for a long time it will be necessary to “talk over the fence” from a position of strength;
• the main fear of the West — the central government in the RF’s losing control over nuclear weapons — is a very effective bluff (a controlled revolution and its element — the Troubles, this in reality does not imply from the word “whatsoever”, but only in the form of a bluff);
• the second fear of the West is the Putin regime’s use of tactical nuclear weapons (a controlled revolution in the RF does not imply this option as a real event);
• the third fear of the West — the actual transfer of Russia’s sovereignty to China — is an equally dangerous myth, disarming the West. Sovereignty is the main goal of Russian transformations and a key link in the modern ideology of the RF, voiced daily at all venues. It is understood as the complete control of the new elite over all processes in the state. Maximum sovereignty is the true goal of a controlled revolution (and the so-called SMO as its most important tool).

It is from this (as the most pragmatic and realistic) understanding of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the processes associated with it that both tactics and a long-term strategy of consolidating democratic countries for the sake of preserving the values of the democratic world should proceed.

The longer the period before the international community adopts this vision, the greater the sacrifices of the Ukrainian people, the international economic system, and the more world political leaders and countries will lose their face and influence.

The criterion for the West’s ability to ensure its leadership and effective development in future international confrontations (which the whole world is watching very closely) is its determination and ability to ensure future peace in Ukraine on Ukrainian, not Russian terms.

There are examples of such determination, and they inspire optimism — legal support has been added to the political, financial, military and moral support for Ukraine’s struggle for its freedom and fundamental universal values: more than 40 countries of the world support the March 2023 decision of the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Putin. This decision is seen by EU and other leaders as the beginning of a process of Russian leaders’ real accountability for the atrocities committed in Ukraine.

Unity based on the values of humanism and democracy must demonstrate its real effectiveness in the fight against barbarism!
This is the only way to preserve our civilization!!!
