“Three Lines of Defense Have Been Created Around the Kremlin” — How the War Returns to Russia

Ivan Sichen, an expert of the Independent Analytical Center for Geopolitical Studies “Borysfen Intel”, for Gazeta.ua

The regions of Russia that border Ukraine are turning into a war zone. We have long-range UAVs that can reach far away. And the enemy is afraid of them. There will be even more strikes. This was stated in a comment for Gazeta.ua by military analyst Ivan Sichen.

“The war is returning to Russian territory. All adjacent regions of the Russian Federation with Ukraine are turning into a war zone. We are launching an offensive — destroying oil depots, critical infrastructure. We have long-range UAVs that can reach far away. And the enemy is afraid of them. And each time there will only be more such strikes. Therefore, the Russians have already created three lines of defense around the Kremlin”, says Ivan Sichen.

Strikes on Russia are of great geopolitical importance, the analyst explains.

“This shows that Russia can no longer fight as before. Near St. Petersburg there were explosions at their airfields. And there is nothing the Kremlin can do. That is why the Russians are actively attacking Ukraine with missiles. They have returned to this tactic again. They are trying to intimidate us. But it’s not going to work”, says Ivan Sichen.

In border regions of Russia, partisan activity has already begun, the analyst specifies.

“In Bryansk, two trains carrying equipment or something else military have been blown up in recent days. In general, many people in Russia are trying to flee to Ukraine and fight. We as a country need to make sure that those who want to fight for Ukraine are granted citizenship”, Ivan Sichen emphasizes.

On April 29, an oil depot burned in Sevastopol. Thick black smoke rose over the city. Collaborators in Crimea announced a drone attack. As a result of the explosion and fire at the oil depot, more than 10 tanks with petroleum products with a capacity of 40 thousand tons were destroyed, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ministry of Defence of Ukraine said.

On the night of May 3, there was an explosion in Russia’s capital, near the Kremlin. Moscow said two Ukrainian drones allegedly “tried to strike” at the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They also announced an “attempt” on him. “We don’t attack Putin, or Moscow, we fight on our territory”, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.
