Hearings in the Case “Ukraine v. Russian Federation” in The Hague

March 7–8, 2022, the International Court of Justice, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, will hold public hearings in the case “Ukraine v. Russian Federation” at the Peace Palace in The Hague.

For possible use in these hearings, we present analytical and other documentary materials prepared by Ukrainian and foreign experts assessing the Russian Federation’s violations of international law during the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and other measures to violate sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.

In particular, on November 26, 2014, the National Institute for Strategic Studies (NISS) hosted an international round table “Russia’s Asymmetric War against Ukraine” with the participation of NISS, the Security Service of Ukraine, the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine and the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine.

The event was opened by a speech by Volodymyr Horbulin, in 2014 – Adviser to the President of Ukraine, Director of the NISS, which contains documentary and other materials that can be used in the hearings of the International Court of Justice in The Hague (the speeches of participants attached).
