A new phase of aggravation in relations between the two geopolitical giants
European media, including in Germany and Austria, are reporting another escalation in relations between two global geopolitical players — the United States and China. Recently, such an escalation was observed in the form of a demonstration of US Navy military power in the South China Sea, where the Americans for the first time strongly expressed their attitude to China’s territorial claims in the region. This also applies, in particular, to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and its subsequent status.
Tensions between the main opponents in the struggle for geopolitical domination in the world are growing. They make nothing of the fact that this world has managed to avoid global wars for 70 years. And this is the time span that covers the lives of two generations of people. Analysts call this situation unusual, because the frequency between global armed conflicts on the planet is usually 20–30 years, i.e. wars affect every generation. The constant challenges and threats that arise today in the world between the major centers of power will inevitably lead the international community to a global confrontation.
